@corningmuseum Assistant Curator Amy J. Hughes (a scholar on Libenský & Brychtová) joined Hiroshi Yamano at Ōsaka University of Arts 大阪芸術大学 to lecture on Stanislav Libenský and Jaroslava Brychtová’s piece “The River of Life“

Exhibited in it’s entirety in 1970 at the World Expo in Osaka, it was then separated and sold into three parts; over 1/3 of the piece has been crated and stored on the university campus for over 40 years only to be opened once before this momentous occasion seen here, another portion is in a private collection and a small section remains at the Osaka Expo Commemorative Park.

Here’s to a future possibility of seeing all three sections reunited!
